SOCIAL IMPACT / SUSTAINABLE HOTELS
We select hotels that value social impact and sustainability. These properties utilize renewable energy and reinvest their revenue back into local community programs.
WHAT WE MEAN BY
"TRAVEL THAT EMPOWERS ALL"
By visiting Favela Organica, we empower a woman-owned organization that is feeding her community, and teaching the importance of nutrition, wellness, and sustainability.
The SDG we support
SDG #11: SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
More than half of our world’s population live in cities, and that is projected to rise to 60 per cent by 2030. Rapid urbanization has caused a growing number of favelas, low income neighborhoods, inadequates infrastructures and services (such as waste collection and water and sanitation systems, roads and transport), worsening air pollution, and unplanned urban sprawl. Through the lens of sustainability we're working with locals to discover innovative ways to empower their community and the environment.

Founder of Favela Organica
Proudly partnered with:
Favela Orgânica is a pioneering initiative that originated in the Babilônia and Chapéu Mangueira communities, in the south of the city of Rio de Janeiro. It appeared in September 2011, as a result of the sensitive look and initiative of Regina Tchelly. From a holistic approach that encompasses concepts such as conscious consumption, alternative gastronomy, homemade composting and gardens in small spaces, the project has already expanded its workshops, offerings, and educational courses to several states in Brazil.

Later that evening, retrieve our bags and then board an evening flight back to Rio de Janeiro.
We encourage our travelers to take an afternoon flight (if that's a great feasible option) to enjoy some optional add-on activities we're happy to arrange.
Enjoy the morning paraglide over the city of Rio de Janeiro, helicopter tour, or more beach time.
Day One: Welcome to Brazil! Be picked-up from Rio's international airport and transferred to our hotel. In the late afternoon, adventure to the vibrant area of Lapa, a charming are of Rio de Janeiro focused on Samba, music, and nightlife.
We will enjoy dinner there, enjoy a complimentary Caipirinha (Brazil's national drink), take a samba class, and dance the night away. It's the perfect way to kick off the trip, meet your fellow travelers and locals.
Day Three: To start the day visit one of the beautiful Wonders of the World, 'Christ the Redeemer' bright and early to be one of the first visitors up the mountain.
Afterwards be welcomed by one of our local guides, Eddie, to visit Babilonia Favela. Walk the local streets and learn more about the origin of favelas, and why they have expanded across Rio de Janeiro.
We will also make our way to Favela Organica, a well respected NGO that puts the community at the heart of their operations. They provides food, nutrition, and wellness practices to those that need it most in Rio de Janeiro.

Day Five: Start the morning on the Brazil side of Iguazu Falls, one of the greatest natural landmarks in the world. Explore the nature trail right to the center of Garganta del Diablo (The Devil’s Throat), one of the most impressive views with 14 falls plunging more than 260 feet (80 metres).
Fun fact, around half of the water flow from the Iguazu River spills into the Devil’s Throat. With water flowing from three sides, Garganta del Diablo is an incredible 260-degree waterfall and it makes a thunderous noise. You can hear the loud roar of The Devil’s Throat from miles away.
Rise and shine, we're heading to Grumari, one of the best pristine beaches in Rio de Janeiro. Enjoy the ocean waves, have a drink in hand, and a lunch with a view at Mirante da Prainha.
For sunset, we will venture to Marina da Glória to take a sunset sail on the Rio de Janeiro bay. Take in the views of sunset and reflect on the beautiful experiences.
